Default Old Red

This was my alltime favorite (everyday) truck. I bought it new, Dec 19th 1990. When I sold it in aug of 2006 it had 152,000 miles and had done more work than any thing I ever owned. In those miles the trans was serviced twice, the motor was tuned twice. she got a new water pump, 2 batteries
and 2 sets of tires. Oh to have another new one just like this one

Looked like a workhorse Steve. Plus plenty of room for Toby to stretch out

Oh yes he commandeered the whole back seat , and some times in the summer when our shop doors were open he would come up missing and we would find him napping in the back seat he is just a bit spoiled or loved ! ! is there a difference

Not trying to one up anyone but I bought this New in Oct of 93 while living in IL. It was souly for transportation. We moved to MI. in 94, at that time it became a work truck complete with a ton of tool boxs and tools. It worked like that untill 06 when I retired sold the tool boxs not the tools. It has over 220K had the trans rebuilt once at around 150k. 1 altenator 1 waterpump, and had to replace the intake gasket. other than normal maintance brakes oil and lube (Tires). This has been the best truck I've ever owned. A couple years ago it got new front fenders and a paint job. My first one was a 67 bought used in 69, then a new one in 74, and 85, then my current 93. OH almost forgot my passenger is a newly accuired Lab from the pound a great place to get a friend. When we got him I had to pick him up to get him into the truck. Now he gets in and out himself.

The 88-98 Chevy trucks were real good ones from every one i have talked to. I bought a 1989 Chevy 1/2t 4wd in 1995. I was very happy with it. I sold it a couple of months back. Was hard to do since i get attached to my vehicles. I replaced it with a 2005 Chevy 1/2t crew cab.

Hard to see the old irons we had go down the road, but under new ownership is better then going to the scrapper. Sounds like you stepped up to a good replacement, Terry.

Im` very happy with the 2005 i bought. It has the 5.3. in it. I pulled a tralier this past weekend with the 57 on it and averaged about 12 mpg so i`ll call that good. And that was in 103-105* heat with the A/C blowing all the way.
