I have a '72 Monte Carlo I have owned for 20 years. It was originally a special order triple black car. I have the build sheet and original window sticker. I have already pulled it off the frame once and it will be coming off again in the near future. I still haven't decided what do do with it. I would love to tub it and I am seriously considering chopping it about 1-1 1/2" just to make people scratch their heads when they look at it. Plans are for a T-56 behind an LS motor. Possibly built to Z06 specs and with a Magnacharger. It will definitely not be a resto. I like customs too much to leave things like the factory made them. I think a car should reflect it's owner.

Hi Michael
Welcome Aboard to Chevy Legends. Ahh Big Block in a Monte, there are plenty of way to shoe horn a biggy into were a smally use to be. But it dose depend on how much fab experience you have ! ! I am not aware of a kit per say versus home brew installation. Let us know what you have to work with and post some photo's......

I don't know were you live but take a close look at your emission laws before you get too indepth here. In some states it's impossable to do this and remain legal in others it would be difficult. In few states you would ned to do some wiring and possibly computer replacement or at least some work to re-program it. As far as just plain fittment I know it can be done but there really isn't much information on it because of emmision laws in california. I would venture a guess and say your main problem is going to be heigth. Brake booster and hood clearance. your steering box is forward of the cross member i think. A new hood might be necassery. Those cars are a little too low to cut your cross member and fab a lower one. If you decide to try it then take a bunch of pictures and ask us as many questions as you want. I can take some measurements of my BBC if you need.
