I'm looking for feedback from those of you who have installed reproduction interiors in your Chevy. I'd appreciate knowing:

where you got your kit
how long ago you installed it
its quality
its fit
how complete was it? (missing/additional hardware needed)
how close did it match the original
would you buy the same again?

I'm replacing the Black Madrid vinyl interior and a black star-pattern headliner in my bucket seat 65 SS coupe.

I'm ready to buy so I can have an upholsterer working on the seats while the body is at the resto shop and I'm working on the drive train.

Thanks in advance.

I had good luck with CARS upholstery on my '56 Chevy and fairly good luck with Al Knoch for Corvettes.

Word of caution. Don't wait too long after getting upholstery before installing. I couldn't get wrinkles out of one seat because it's date of fab was a few years old. They promptly replaced it though. You might try doing your own. Just get a good book on doing it. I fabbed my own foam to save money but the "foam buns" make the job easier.

Came out real good and exact duplicate of the orignial. Have been in for about 12 years and still look great.

Gaspains welcome most all major suppliers will have top shelf kits the main thing you want to ask is who produces theirs for example PUI they are top quality and exact another is ciadellas used theres in my 55chevy convert
and won 1st place at World of Wheels in tampa ,Fl. I'm using PUI in my 67 chevelle and in my 69olds cutlass. You will find theres a lot of extras you have to get that won't be in the kit and it all gets pretty expensive! But with the right kit an interior man well worth it . Sites to check out just a couple examples NPD Year one Eklers ground up C.A.R.S. The last I believe does in house and will custum cut even in custom colors to order. Good luck!!

Thanks all for your input. Sounds like most of the namebrands are good. I'm leaning towards PUI after seeing posts here and in other places as well as my body man's advice.

I'll let you know what happens. As for installing myself, the jury is still out.
